If you were born before the digital age...

Something I was thinking about recently, I wondered if anyone else has thoughts like this sometimes XD

Basically, what do you think you'd be like if you were born in a time without "blank".

Like I was thinking specifically if I was born in a time before animation was even invented... what would I grow up wanting to pursue!? I wonder if I'd still even show interest in art since it was all those happy colorful animated movies I watched as a kid that really got me interested in animation~

I think... if I was born in a time before animation..I'd grow up to be an unhappy house wife XD;

Or maybe I'd still at least write stories. Hopefully I'd still at least do that...!

Heheh maybe I shouldn't be posting silly deep thinking questions at night but I am curious. What do YOU guys think you'd be like if you grew up in a time before computers? Before animation was invented? Before "???"?

I often think this too, actually!
I figured I would have been burned at the stake accused of being a witch, or something.

If I hadn't, then I would probably have still pursued art, and heck, I probably would be amazingly better at it, because I wouldn't be as focus on going to work and school and the such to stop me from painting what I want when I want it.

Since up until recently, women weren't allowed to do much but raise kids and be housewives, I don't think I'd have been able to do much in the world besides art. So yeah, still a painter haha!

If I wasn't dead of some now-easily-curable childhood illness, I imagine I'd probably still aspire to write or draw... It's hard to say, though, because I would probably be a completely different person. I do believe I am a product of my environment and my upbringing; I seek to make a career out of what I'm good at because I was raised to believe this was a good and suitable goal for me to aspire to. I have no idea whether that would hold up in the face of public censure, or if the idea would have gotten into my head at all in the first place if no one had ever given me hope that it was possible. A me who was born a hundred or so years in the past would probably have been raised to believe that a life of quiet domesticity should be the height of my ambitions, and maybe would have believed it. I can't say for sure, because I have never been in those shoes.

....If I was raised before the internet but after it had become accepted for women to go to university and get jobs and seek independent lives, though, oh man. XD I would be SO much more productive. I would probably travel a lot, and read, and draw all the time. I suppose I'd aspire to do oil or acrylic painting for a living, or maybe work in comics.... My goals would probably be relatively similar to my goals now so long as comics as a mass-marketed thing existed, because I've wanted to do comics since long before I started using the internet in 2005 or so.

The worst sort of outcast x_x non-cis/nonbinary wasn't a Thing you were allowed to be. (......on the other hand, it was remarkably easy to fake one's identity...) Occupation-wise I'd probably be a writer; I think I owe my artistic ambitions almost entirely to the internet, but I've been a storyteller as long as I can remember.
