Nanowrimo (2013)

I want to try it again this year, finishing it last year really made me feel accomplished. I still haven't decided if I want to do the pure word limit or try something that includes drawing and set my own goals.

I was just wondering if anyone here planned on doing it this year.~

But yes, I like having this one time every year to make myself sit down and get a lot of writing done. C: otherwise I tend to prioritise other things (like illustrations/comics/costumes/crafts) and hardly ever get any prose written.
(...though the thing I'm thinking of writing this year still needs a looooot of planning and I haven't really hit on the right 'inspiration' yet... we'll see how that goes I guess. xD;; )

Ahaha sorry it's just been on my mind lately since I have been thinking about it for a while now. XD

I'm starting a new story that has been floating around in my head for a while. I may use the spare time to do some art of the main character or something to get me in the mood to write about him. I'll post it if I do. I'm actually writing a story story this time too rather than a script so that will be interesting, and probably easier since I'll be writing out a lot more details.

Are you starting a new story too since you need to plan a lot for it? So fun. If you ever want someone to read your stories feel free to chuck them my way, I do love reading so.

I'm glad someone else I know is doing it again this year, it's encouraging to watch other people's progress meters. XD And to know they are watching mine, maybe.

haha! yeah that progress bar (and knowing other people are watching it) is probably the reason I won all my nanos and didn't flake out xD;; I think we are writing buddies on there; you're Ademus, right?

...and I guess sort of newish? A few of the characters are older, but the premise and plot and other characters are new and still need a lot of work xD;; (though knowing me I'll probably just... wing it.........) It's the story about this guy, anyway.

If I ever get anything into a legible format I'll definitely share! but I actually do my nanos longhand and I find transposing things from longhand into digital type to be incredibly tedious xD;;
This one will probably end up becoming a comic, though, so whether or not any of it ends up typed depends on other factors. (I'd be more inclined to type my nano from last year because Alizaron is the one story I strongly envision as a prose novel; I tend to chicken out and decide my nanos work better as comics, assuming I wasn't already planning it that way when I started.)

I'm going to try this year. I'm still pretty busy, but I'm not completely bogged down like the last few years when I was a full time student. I should be able to scrape together some time here and there to get some writing in.

The story I have planned is 4 books long. I finished a very rough draft of the first book last year which I'm still editing, but I think I'm going to try to go ahead and write the second book for nano.

I figure even if I don't succeed, any writing is good, right? XD; I mean even if I only end up with 10k words, that's more than I would have had. I think the whole progress bar thing will be a big motivator. Looking forward to it!

I'm gonna try! Gonna see if I can write a story about this doof.

I'm so unprepared this year xD;; I have to keep reminding myself that I completely winged nanos in the past and it all turned out okay... the last couple years I had a lot more in the way of preplanning, and I guess I got used to it.

I'm so dang excited for this! My first nano yay.

I'm mostly ready, except... uhg I always find starting is the hardest part. Once I get going I'm good, but it's so difficult for me to figure out where to begin when I'm staring at a blank page. Even if I know roughly what's supposed to happen. But once I get over that hurdle, I am so ready. XD

EDIT: And yeah, I'm supposed to be up early and was trying to sleep, but my insomnia is keeping me up... so might as well see if I can start writing a bit. (About a character struggling with insomnia too, how perfect. XP)

hey hey, it's only been three days! 8D plenty of time to catch up still.
also everyone on my buddylist is behind; YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

It's more my style to procrastinate and then dash forward rather than pace myself like a reasonable person anyway. I technically had a cold and slept the past couple days but if it wasn't that it would be something else. *Shrugs* Just not sure I'll be able to get away with that thanks to grad school and having to write long papers for that also haha.

Several people on my list already have 16,000-17,000 words. That's so intense. XD

Wow, that's..... insane ._. I barely managed to crank out 3k and now I'm panicking over how many ongoing projects I suddenly seem to have going on simultaneously, and have stalled out for the time being. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up again, but I should take care of some other things first...

I got behind too. I'm never going to get much writing done on the weekends because I usually have super early shifts that drain the energy right out of me. x.x

But now that I'm rested again, and I just caught up today, yay.

Oh yeah I forgot, you can add buddies to this too, right? Does anyone want to add me?
